Academy expanded

The EVZ Academy is a driving force and disseminator of the EVZ Foundation's strategic, programmatic and communicative approaches. In this capacity, it opens up spaces for networking, exchange and learning, both offline and online. It brings together stakeholders from politics, science and civil society to discuss the Foundation's subjects, further develop them and introduce them into social debates.

Mission Statement

The EVZ Academy is a driving force and disseminator of the EVZ Foundation's strategic, programmatic and communicative approaches.

It is an analog and digital European forum for learning, innovation and exchange.

The EVZ Academy brings together people from politics, science and practice from the EVZ Foundation's networks in Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and Germany – in discussion events, background and expert talks or in creative and artistic formats.

The Academy takes up the EVZ Foundation's subjects and approaches in the areas of support for survivors of National Socialist persecution, the culture of remembrance, historical-political education, youth exchange, combating antisemitism and antigypsyism, human rights work and transitional justice; it also links these to socially relevant and current debates.

EVZ Academy online

The EVZ Academy online bundles and structures the EVZ Foundation's subjects and information: An interactive learning platform is being developed for this purpose. This promotes the transfer of skills to the world of work and civil society, as well as science. There are also plans to offer interested members of the public an opportunity to discuss and explore the EVZ Foundation’s subjects in greater depth – always in dialog, sometimes controversial and frequently using multimedia.

EVZ Conversations!

EVZ Conversations! of the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future is a digital and on-site discussion format and event series.

It brings together people in the areas of politics, civil society and business from the EVZ Foundation's networks in Germany, Central and Eastern Europe as well as Israel – in public discussion events, background and expert talks or in creative and artistic formats.

The focus is on topics that are socially relevant and closely linked to the EVZ Foundation's mission and work.

In 2022, we launched the discussion series and talked with our guests, for example about the consequences of the war in Ukraine on the culture of remembrance, the situation of human rights activists in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia as well as the abduction of Ukrainian children by Russia.

Eylam

We believe it is important to discuss topics like human rights on an international level. That's why we can create common ground for thinking. Only when being exposed to international experiences people will begin to value diversity and togetherness. The more people we meet the more we will develop into global citizens instead of national citizens.
